While studying economics as an undergraduate at the University of Illinois, Brian Estes played on a national championship wheelchair basketball team and secured his private pilot license. He obtained his bachelor of arts in 1990, and began his financial services career as financial advisor and equity broker with A.G. Edwards & Sons in St. Louis, Missouri. By 1998, Brian Estes had earned the distinction of becoming the youngest senior vice president in the firm’s 118-year history.
He parted ways with A.G. Edwards in 2004 and subsequently became owner and president of Estes Financial in Columbia, Illinois. During his time with this firm, he consistently ranked in the top 10th of the top 1 percent of equity managers in the Morningstar Equity Manager universe between 2004-2014.
Brian Estes is currently the managing partner and chief investment officer of Off the Chain Capital in Orlando, Florida. Brian also returned to the academic arena to earn his master of business administration from Washington University, accruing honors such as a C. William Emory Award for Scholarship, Character, and Leadership.
