The recipient of a bachelor's degree in law and society from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a master's degree in secondary education curriculum and instruction from Howard University, Broderick Spencer began his teaching career in 1992 as a substitute with Mississippi Public Schools. Over the next eight years, he taught economics, history, and the US government, among other courses, at the high school level. In 2001, Broderick Spencer moved to New York to accept an assistant principal position with Yonkers Public School District.

Broderick Spencer has since held school administrator roles at Roosevelt Middle-Senior High School, Gorton High School, and Longfellow Middle School, among other educational institutions. He presently serves as principal of Roosevelt High School, where he has implemented the AP Capstone Program and Pre-AP Program in addition to establishing a Career Week.

Supplementing more than 25 years of experience in the education sector, Mr. Spencer holds a membership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals and maintains permanent certification as a school district administrator with the State of New York's Education Department.
