Hi, I’m Tanniesha. I’m a Sign Language Instructor living in Dallas, Texas.
Owner of Butterfly Hands, my mission is to illuminate new ways to communicate and connect with your children.
I teach Manual Signed English (M.S.E) and adaptive sign language. I do not teach American Sign Language(ASL). ASL is a complete and unique language, created for the deaf by the deaf - meaning it not only has its own vocabulary, but its own grammar and syntax that differs from spoken English. I highly encourage anyone wanting to learn ASL to be taught from the deaf community, and to also learn more about their culture.
With MSE and adaptive sign language your child will still learn ASL vocabulary, but in a way where they can communicate English non-verbally and also adjust the signs where it is easier for their tiny hands.
