I have severe Fibromyalgia, most of my life I have had symptoms but never had they all materialized at once, that was until 2010 when all the symptoms started to appear at once, My doctor sent me for test after test for the next 2 1/2 years. All that the doctors kept telling me was that I was healthy yet I felt in so much pain and was so exhausted all of the time, I was suffering with migraine headaches which I had never had before, all my muscles ached like I had run 2 marathons together, my joints felt like they were either on fire or like they had been twisted all the way around, I was having spells of vertigo and nausea so much that I could not even go to the bathroom alone for fear of falling over, it got so bad that when I picked things up my hands and fingers would cramp and I would drop whatever I was trying to carry, ( the dog got fat though and started following me whenever I picked up a plate of food)

June 2014 they finally sent me to see a Rheumatologist he had read my notes did some pressure test and told me that I had what was probably one of the most severe cases of fibromyalgia he had ever seen. Yo can imagine how great that made me feel, I had gone from being a hard working husband and father to a fibro wreck. the next few months were the worst I have ever had to endure, not being able to do the simple things in life that I had always taken for granted, watching the way it was affecting my wife and my family was hard, coming to terms with fibromyalgia has been a challenge and I am not really sure that I have fully done so yet.

No one knows for sure what causes Fibro there is no known cure yet as there are so many different symptoms, there is no medication for it just a large range of pills that are supposed to ease some of the symptoms some of the time, the other thing that there is not is support. The only support that is available is run by those who suffer by creating face book pages and websites for fellow sufferers to try and find support, with this in mind I volunteered to help a new support group in any way I was able. www.fibropool.org now have a Facebook page with over 250 members and a website that is close to completion.

More to come soon.
