Carl Melchior Fisher Jr

Over the past three decades, Carl Melchior Fisher Jr. has held numerous high-level positions in the energy industry. Since 2003, he has worked with Areva, Inc., an electrical systems company based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Carl Melchior Fisher Jr. joined the company as manager of electrical projects. In 2005, after accumulating more than $15 million in project revenues, he began managing the Instrumentation and Control (I&C;) Plant Engineering and Electrical Systems division. From this capacity, he doubled his previous revenue intake.

Two years later, Mr. Fisher was promoted to vice president of I&C; and Electrical Systems, and over a two year period he once again more than doubled project revenues. In 2009, he spent a year functioning as vice president of I&C; and Electrical Systems Modernizations for the North American and German regions. In this role, he was responsible for bringing more than $200 million to the company. Currently, Mr. Fisher serves as vice president of the North American sector of I&C; and Electrical Systems Modernizations and the Nuclear Parts Center. Prior to joining Areva, Carl Melchior Fisher Jr. spent more than twenty years working his way through various offshoots of the Duke Power Company. He joined the company in 1990 as an assistant engineer. In 1996, Mr. Fisher became an engineering consultant for Duke Energy Asia Limited. While serving in this capacity, Mr. Fisher managed the acquisition of Pacific Gas and Electric’s energy assets in Australia, which brought Duke to the region for the first time.

Two years later, Mr. Fisher moved to Duke Energy International, where he served as manager of energy services. That same year, he became the commercial development manager for the company’s Tasmania Natural Gas Project. In 2000, Mr. Fisher was promoted to director of the project, a $350 million dollar undertaking that would bring the region natural gas for the first time. Carl Fisher launched his career in the United States Navy as a Reactor Operations Group supervisor on the U.S.S. Nimitz. He attended both the United States Naval Nuclear Power School and the United States Naval Nuclear Power Prototype School. He later earned his bachelor of science in sociology from the University of the State of New York. Mr. Fisher then received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University and later completed a master of business administration at Queens University.
