I'm passionate about many things, but in particular smart people, brave ideas, the future, music, emerging market start-ups, A-Grade teams and never giving up.

I started my first venture, MANGO-OMC, while completing a Btech in Strategic Communication at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. Over the course of seven years I worked extensively with South African and international clients such as Woolworths Financial Services, DSTV Online, 24.com, The SpaceStation, KykNET, FairTrade, TEAMtalk Media, Rocking the Daisies music festival, Red Bull and Red Bull Mobile.

In 2011 I exited the company and joined Bozza.mobi, a Google Ventures and Omidyar funded start-up that was building a platform for talent discovery in Africa.

Applying my experience of working with big brands, mobile operators and OEMs across the African continent, I founded my 2nd venture, HQ Africa, in 2013. The agency supported clients from the Naspers Group, Mozilla FireFox, WeChat and The Dating Lab with business development and deal making in Sub-Saharan Africa. The experience offered me a unique insight into the need for localized business strategies.

Drawing from this combined experience and my love for music, NicheStreem was founded in 2015. Hosted on Amazon Web Services NicheStreem’s end-to-end platform is custom built to scale and support multiple white label streams: each branded, curated and promoted to a specific audience. The startup was nominated for the 2016 FNB Innovation Awards and was recently selected to participate in the world’s first PeaceTech Accelerator in Washington DC, USA.

In my career I have served on the board of the Silicon Cape Initiative; was named one of the Mail & Guardian’s “200 Young South Africans”; was recognized in the Topco Top Women in Business and Government; and included in the Old Mutual Do Great Things guide as well as the Fin 24: SA women making it big in tech list. I speaks on a variety of topics ranging from how content drives the uptake of technology to African music streaming services, to innovation in Africa at conferences such as SXSW, Midem, Tech4Africa, #FastForward, MLOVE and The DW Global Media Forum. I enjoy mentoring for TechStars, Sw7, Launch Weekend, #FutureFemales and Spark-Up.

I am a nominated member of the African Leadership Network (http://africanleadershipnetwork.com/) and occasionally judge the GSMA Glomo Awards.

Mostly I just enjoy life.
