Main research interests are in 3D motion analysis, biomechanics and orthopaedic engineering focussing on analysis and classification of joint function and novel applications of motion capture.Ideas for developing motion capture, analysis and classification for orthopaedics and functional changes due to degenerative joint disease and surgical intervention have led to securing, with colleagues, external grant support totalling £15 million. Collaborations with UK and international universities and industrial companies from several countries. Leadership on projects funded by Research Councils, Charity and Industry.
Contributed over 100 refereed research papers, published proceedings and conference abstracts in International Journals and Conferences in countries including the UK, USA and Europe.
