When people ask me what I want to do when I grow up, I say that I want to save the world. While I am not naive enough to think that a positive global change can be single-handedly achieved by one person, it doesn’t stop me from trying. The idea may be too idealistic, but the sentiment motivates me to work for an international organization or a branch of the United States government that champions for various humanitarian causes.
As one of the founders and current treasurer of the Thirst Relief International club at school, I have worked to improve my community through volunteer work and advocating clean water for all because it is a right, not a privilege, to have a healthy and reliable water supply. All the money my club fund raises will be donated to build wells and filtration centers in third world countries. In addition, I am an active member in Friday Night Live, Spanish Club, and the California Scholarship Federation. This year, I created a project called Park and Ponder. As a team of sophomores and seniors, we set out and accomplished our goal to beautify the senior parking lot at school with inspirational quotes and messages.
