Cesar Bustamante
Hi everyone!
My name is Cesar Bustamante and I will be your instructor for Introduction to Human Services. I love teaching and I love learning. Facilitating this course allows me to pursue both. I live in Hornell, NY, I am originally from Chile, South America. I have lived in USA for over 20 years. I am married and have three children. My youngest son is our political rights activist and always the defender for the underdog, thus we call him our “public defender”. My oldest son is a survivor of a traumatic brain injury and incredible! In addition, my oldest child and only daughter graduated from Navy Basic Training and her language program and won the academic excellence award out of 550 other recruits! She is in the Navy’s linguistic program and loving it.
Now that I have bragged enough about my family, I will tell you a little about myself. Like I mentioned before, I am from Santiago Chile. I left home when I was 21 and came to USA to go School. I met my wife while in school and got married. We first lived out west in Utah, then we moved to NY which I now call home, and am still astounded at the colors each Fall.
I have an Associate Degree in Human Services and a Bachelor Degree of in Human Services with a concentration in community services. I have worked in the human services field for over 15 years, which I feel is my calling in life.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, going to the movies and walking in the woods. I am also a youth leader in my church and teach Sunday school. I love baking and listening to music and every now and then I pick up my guitar and play.
I can't wait to meet each of you and start our exploration of the vast field of Human Services!
