CHANTAL SOUAID MCHANTAF has a solid background in leadership development, project management and an extensive work experience with local and international civil society organizations operating in the developmental field in Lebanon.

She is currently the MENA Director for the U.S. Department of State funded Leaders for Democracy Fellowship (LDF) program implemented by World Learning in Lebanon and the United States. The program aims to advance participatory governance and civic engagement in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by supporting 230 emerging civil society leaders through a yearlong academic and skill based training. In parallel to her current position, Chantal is a Leadership Management® International (LMI®) Facilitator specialized in the managerial and leadership tracks where she helps people realize their full potential for personal leadership and management through building on strengths, improving self-image, self-motivation and by altering attitudes, behaviors and habits.

Throughout her career and due to the challenging nature of the work she has been involved in, Chantal succeeded to build a respectable network of connections with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Lebanon, the Lebanese University and many local and International NGOs operating in Lebanon. Before joining World Learning, Chantal had been managing the USAID funded D-RASATI 2’s Leadership Development Program (LDP), a stellar leadership program that helped over 600 Lebanese school principals get official tenure in the government. For several years, she had been involved in the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Lebanon as the Cisco Entrepreneurship Institute Program Manager where she helped hundreds of entrepreneurs, start, grow and IT enable their business. Earlier in her career, Chantal helped manage the ten-year Transparency and Accountability Grants (TAG) program, a sub-USAID donor program that provided hundreds of grants to NGOs in Lebanon.

Chantal holds a BA in International Affairs and Diplomacy, and an MBA with an emphasis on Projects and Operations Management.

And when she is not working, she is writing her random thoughts on her personal blog.
