Charles Soost

Charles (Chuck) Soost was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he delivered newspapers to earn money for his first car. He also played football and tennis for Will Rogers High School. Chuck earned Water Safety Instructor, YMCA leader examiner swimming instructor and YMCA SCUBA certificates and taught both.
Chuck received Degrees from Northeastern Oklahoma A & M, Florida Atlantic University (Marine Biology) and the University of Florida (Pharmacy). While in college held a variety of jobs including, machinist, lab instructor, lifeguard, construction worker, and truck driver
Throughout the years living in Key West, Miami and Orlando Florida, Chuck owned and operated a pharmacy, closeout grocery outlets, independent liquidator and was a chain drugstore manager.
Participating in several outreach trips from a farm project in Nicaragua to a construction project at a church in the Canyon de Chelly, for the Anasazi Indians. In 2018 walked the 500 mile Camino de Santiago.
In 1993 Chuck began to study ballroom dancing. He added Country Western, Swing (East and West Coast) and Latin to his ever expanding repertoire while traveling across country to West Coast Swing events.
Taking 5 years while working to rebuild a 42 ft. Power Trawler (boat), upon which he lives. He completely redesigned and rebuilt the vessel from the inside to the outside.
Now partially retired, chartering his trawler, working part-time as a pharmacist and serving as a dance host on cruise ships.
Chuck enjoys spending time and taking trips with his grandchildren and is extremely proud of his daughters.
With gratitude in his heart he is living the dream he had as a teen, and embellished upon through out life, diving and living the marina life in Ft. Lauderdale Fla.
