Durham, North Carolina, United States
I currently reside in Durham, North Carolina but I was born in Decatur, Georgia and grew up in Prince George’s County, Maryland. I attend North Carolina Central University on a full, academic scholarship. I am a mass communications major, member of the University Honors Program, and a member of Phi Eta Sigma National Honors Society.
From a young age I took an interest in creative activities, such as art and creative writing. At the age of nine, I started writing a novel, however I did not finish it. My interests shifted to writing short stories, poetry, and songs. During my sophomore year of college, I discovered screenwriting. I began writing television pilots as well as feature and short film scripts. I plan on going to graduate school to study film and television. My professional goals are to have career as a writer and producer. I also hope to get some of my original works produced.
My favorite poem is “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. I believe in taking the road less traveled if it makes you happy. To me success is being true to yourself even if that means being different from everybody else. I prefer to stand out rather than blend in with the crowd.
