“Give, but give until it hurts.” ― Mother Teresa "Give, but give until it tickles!" -- Cher Frampton Giving of myself.....be it my time, talent or soul...I think should be until it tickles not hurts. Giving to others makes me happy, not sad, and it does not hurt me. If it does, I think I am doing something wrong. Of course Mother Teresa may have a point, sometimes you get tickled so much, it does start to hurt...but in a good way. One day I was blessed with an autistic son. Shortly after I realized that came with a calling card to serve. Since then I have worked in the non-profit world doing just that. I cannot imagine ever doing anything else. Currently I am a Volunteer Coordinator for an organization that provides emergency food, housing assistance and clothing for the poor. I am part of a staff of 9, but we need over 400 volunteers to serve the more than 90,000 people a year we provide for. Frequently our volunteers are also our clients. I am passionate about my work and greatly enjoy those around me.
