Cheylinel Gaston

Los Angeles, CA

My name is Cheylinel Gaston, but you can call me Chey. I am an ordinary small town preacher's kid originally from Bakersfield, CA. I graduated from USC with a BA in Psychology and a MA in Education. I am a 26 year old high school math/psychology teacher now residing in South Central Los Angeles.

I have many loves and few passions, all of which drive me to seek growth in every area of my life. I love cooking, writing, traveling, creating, my job and the outdoors. I am passionate about my family/friends, my students, serving, learning, experiencing life, bettering me and having a Christ-like existence. These things, together, shape the paths I have taken and roads I will choose to follow. As I am daily discovering my sovereignly created purpose, I am also learning how to deal with life's challenges; one ridiculous issue at a time.

My goals are to write a book, change lives, kick the education system in the butt, play the guitar, explore the world and to be able to one day stand before God with a smile of accomplishment.

My past does not define me, but it has had a significant role in my connotation. My present is merely a personification of my purpose. And my future is a glimpse of God's sovereign grace and sense of humor.

Welcome to my world!
