Chip McGee is a longtime Bedford, NH teacher and educational leader who presently coordinates analytics-driven school improvement activities with Sugar Maple Consulting. Focused on strengthening curriculum and professional development capacities, Chip McGee assists NH schools in creating staff evaluation systems and defining strategy.
Mr. McGee previously served as superintendent of the Bedford School District and oversaw a broad range of functions, from curriculum planning to maintaining a properly balanced budget. He also spearheaded initiatives in the technology and professional development spheres, and supported efforts to help make the school district one of the top-performing statewide.
Throughout the late 1990s, Mr. McGee served as teacher with The Beacon School, a selective Manhattan public school, and instructed in subjects such as algebra, physical science, and global studies. He undertook the development of Performance Based Assessments, which emerged as a New York State Regents Exam alternative during this time. An avid traveler, he recently took a trip to the city of Varanasi, India, after which he blogged about the experience.
