Ambulance, Emergency Planning, and Disaster Management in London, United Kingdom

Hire me

I have a background working in the NHS and the ambulance service, specifically in emergency planning, management and control rooms. I started as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher in 1999 for the London Ambulance Service. From 2008 I spent four years in the training department teaching new recruitment and existing LAS staff, becoming the Training Officer of the year in 2010. In April 2012 I became an Emergency Planning & Resilience Officer, with general incident response responsibilities and specific portfolios responsible for our control rooms, command support and incident communication. I commenced the role prior to the London Olympic Games where I was a Tactical Advisor during the games. I am passionate about education of staff and the public, particularly around incident response and patient care. My twitter feed highlights incidents I find interesting and public information messages, from the UK and abroad, with the aim to raise awareness. Follow me @LAS_TacAdvisor. My role as an Emergency Planning Officer sees me responding to incidents in the Capital, planning for them, training staff, exercising staff and ensuring the LAS can respond appropriately during incidents & the hundreds of public events we deal with each year. The Emergency Planning team consists of 9 EPROs, one of the best teams I have ever worked with.
