Savior Complex.

Saviors have one mission on this planet: help everyone.

It's a form of dependence, in which someone needs to feel appreciated and useful to other people.

They focus on the desires, needs and problems of the people close to them, and forget about themselves.

Saviors want to help others because they don't see their own value, so they think that if they're themselves, they don't deserve love. So, they think that making an effort for someone else gives that person a valid reason to love them.

This need stems from our past and our wounds, often, we comfort others with the same words that we would have loved to hear.

This process can quickly become harmful to you, because the battle you're fighting to help others distracts you from the battles you need to fight for yourself. Just because you briefly forget your problems doesn't mean you've fixed them, it's actually the opposite...

Besides, if the person you're trying to help doesn't have the same mindset as you, your help won't be effect because we can never change someone who doesn't want to change.

Result: you make effort in a vacuum, which reinforces your feeling of powerlessness and uselessness, which chips away at your self-esteem, and reinforces your anxiety.

So, you want to rescue everyone but... who rescues you?
