Colin Hirst, MD, pursues training in the developing field of interventional cardiology as a fellow in Tufts Medical Center’s Division of Cardiology. Undertaking this advanced fellowship since 2018, he builds on an extensive academic background in the field of cardiology. A board-eligible cardiologist as well as a board certified internist, Colin Hirst, MD, maintains teaching responsibilities as well as holds fellow-in-training memberships with several professional cardiology organizations on the national and state levels.

Prior to beginning his postgraduate pursuits, Dr. Hirst completed an MA in medical sciences at Boston University and an MD at Albany Medical College. He subsequently fulfilled the requirements of an internship and residency at Saint Louis University Hospital/Saint Louis University School of Medicine. While there, he served as a member of the Housestaff Leadership Council.

Returning to the Northeast, Colin Hirst, MD, turned his focus to the field of cardiology when he began a general cardiology fellowship at Tufts. In the final year of his fellowship, he distinguished himself by serving in the faculty-elected position of chief cardiology fellow. Today, along with completing his interventional cardiology fellowship, Colin Hirst, MD, is preparing to enter another cardiology subspecialty. Beginning in 2019, he will assume a position in transplant cardiology and advanced heart failure at Tufts.
