Colleen Hendrick

Colleen Hendrick is the Artistic Director of Bush Mango Drum & Dance. BMDD is commited to the traditional music and dance of Guinea, West Africa. The thirteen-member performing company is housed at their Rochester, New York location where people age 3 - 73 study music and dance in a unique enviornment that crosses all boundaries of race, age, gender, class and skill level. She and the 501(C)3 organization are the recipients of numerous awards for choreography and not for profit excellence. She is also the owner of Surrender to the Call, a service that assists individuals seeking to fully express their life vision. She is a certified Hatha Yoga Instructor, specializing in private and group classes for people that have had hip and knee replacements. Ms. Hendrick teaches in the Movement Studies Department at the University of Rochester and is currently completing her MALS degree at the State Universiy of New York, at Empire State College with a focus on the arts of Guinea, West Africa, folklore and psychology.
