Helping animals has always been my passion, but until becoming a veterinarian I did not realize how much I am actually helping the people who love the animals I am treating. This complex dynamic can make my days range from pure fulfillment and happiness to extreme stress and sometimes sadness depending on the situation. My goal through it all is to treat each pet as if they were my own, to enhance the bond between the pet and pet parent, to educate, and to work together to find solutions that benefit everyone.
I graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and have been an associate veterinarian since that time at VCA Spring Animal Hospital in Spring, TX.
My husband, Todd Hayden, is also a veterinarian and we have four cats, Texas Pete, Dexter, Cricket, and Lilly, and one dog, Bear. Todd is from Oklahoma, and I am from Arkansas. We both worked at Baker Animal Clinic in Stillwater, OK while pursuing our undergraduate degrees at OSU. After graduating from veterinary school, we moved to Spring and have really enjoyed the area.
My interest include food, photography, Pinterest, Instagram, and I have recently been introduced to skydiving, which I love.
Bear is 14 and has Degenerative Myelopathy (DM). DM is similar to ALS in people. His back legs don't function well but he gets around great in his Walkin Wheels wheelchair and still loves his walks. He is my daily inspiration.
