Shawna Du

Shawna Du is a writer and artist that works mixed media and writes fiction and non-fiction. She has a Bachelors of Arts in English and an Associates Degree in Biology. She currently lives in Southern California where she is married and raises two young boys who keep life beautifully chaotic.

In April of 2017, she found a lump in her breast that was later diagnosed as cancer. She now feels called to encourage women to perform monthly self breast exams and become their own healthcare hero.

In 2025, celebrated 8 years cancer free. She is thankful for her family and friends who supported her during her most difficult times. And looks forward to living her life full of beauty and strength.

She is currently exploring themes of beauty and horror of the human condition in her writings. And in her art, she explores the theme of nature on paper, canvas, clay, and wool sculptures.
