Crissy Dobson

Athens, GA

Crissy Dobson began practicing yoga in 2003 in Flint, Michigan. Yoga quickly became an important companion along her educational path in Biochemistry. After moving to Athens, GA to continue her studies, working towards her Ph.D. in Biochemistry, she began practicing mixed martial arts under the Singer brothers at The HardCore Gym. She immediately identified with and began specializing in brazilian jiu jitsu. The connection between the martial arts world and yoga quickly became clear. The two arts complimented each other so well and served to create a balance between strength, power, restoration, and mental focus. Yoga gained an important role in preparing her for her first mixed martial arts fight in early 2013. This cemented the desire to help usher in a closer relationship between yoga and MMA in the world around her. To further her understanding and ability to teach others, she moved to Los Angeles, CA to train in the epicenter of fitness yoga, where she received her first Yoga Teacher Certification. The asana practice she teaches unites the many styles she experienced in LA, Michigan and Georgia, bringing the best of this world back to The HardCore Gym in Athens, GA. She combines her background with science, the martial arts, and yoga to help raise awareness of breath, and the balance of body, mind, and soul to her community.
