When I stumbled upon a quote from Robert Kiyosaki, I immediately fell in love with it - "A lot of people are afraid to tell the truth, to say no. That's where toughness comes into play. Toughness is not being a bully. It's having backbone." Until the age of 15, I was there to appease everyone - to be the chubby, class clown. When I hit high school, I realized that was no way to make friends, take a stand or even be noticed.

Now, as an opinionated but fair twenty-something social media pro in Motor City USA, I've come into my own and am completely comfortable with being that "fiesty" woman in meetings - someone has to be.
