Nathalie Cadieux
My name is Nathalie and I have Crohn's disease and a resulting Ileostomy since the age of 13. Spent most of my high school in hospitals trying a million drugs and finally accepting to undergo surgery to have my large colon removed and get an Ileostomy; at the time diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis. A couple months later, went back in to have my rectum removed after losing what felt like my entire life supply of blood. Officially diagnosed with Crohn's and told I would be keeping my Ileostomy for life. Less then a year after that, intestine twists and resting the bowels do not work so in for surgery I go again to fix this. Fast forward to 3 years ago, was only on Imuran and doing great in remission. Then came the abcess and fistula. Put on Remicade and the treatments heal it all. Finally about 6 months ago, comes the abcess and more fistulas but Remicade no longer doing its job. In a long process with surgeon and specialists to determine a new drug plan and for sure another surgery to fix this. More on me as it goes...
