Co-founded by Justin Beck and Rick Probst, Cultivation Technologies, Inc. is a company that operates within the legal medical cannabis industry to provide infrastructure, genetics, technology, and branding. Though founded just two years ago, Cultivation Technologies has already begun construction on the initial phase of first-ever fully entitled medical cannabis campus located in Coachella, California. In addition to breaking ground in June of 2017, Cultivation Technologies, Inc. also recently executed a sponsored research agreement for Cannabis genetics within Dr. Daniele Piomelli’s lab at the University of California, Irvine. CTI Genetics, the subsidiary under Cultivation Technologies, Inc. will conduct research on the biology, genomics, and genetic diversity of Cannabis. CTI Genetics is led by two biotech experts with over 70 years combined experience: the company’s Chief Science Officer Eric Mathur, and it VP of Plant Sciences & UCSD Professor Emeritus Dr. Richard Schmidt. Their work will focus on research that aims to improve the purity of individual species for greater chemical profile consistencies, allowing strains to be produced for more specific medical uses. Apart from the company’s work in infrastructure and research, Cultivation Technologies, Inc. also produces its own brand of cannabis, Coachella Premium. Coachella Premium products will be produced without chemical-pesticides using sustainable production practices.
