Dianne Barton-Paine
Tournament Director for the American Contract Bridge League. Prior to that, worked as a Computer Security Consultant for Bank of America (1976-1986) and was the team photographer for the NBA's Golden State Warriors (1966-1970). Her photographs have appeared in several magazines. Both of Dianne's parents were tournament directors -- and opened the first duplicate bridge club in San Francisco in the late 1930's. She taught herself to play bridge at age 8, but didn't play seriously until age 11. She became the youngest Life Master in 1961 -- an achievement that resulted in a full page picture and article in The Saturday Evening Post, as well as a guest appearance on To Tell the Truth. She became the ACBL's youngest Tournament Director that same year. When she's not directing tournaments, she spends her time growing orchids, working in her Japanese garden, cooking, and dining out with friends. Dianne has a son, daughter-in-law, and twin grandsons who live in Florida. She is a second generation, native San Franciscan.
