DJ SpongeRoc

DJ SpongeRoc is an Up And Coming Hip Hop DJ/Producer out of Dallas,Texas. His musical style and composition are unmatched by any other DJ around. His unique style was influenced by numerous artists like Big Tuck, Play N Skills, Paul Wall, Michael Jackson, The Temptations and many other musical styles that were part of his life growing up like Cumbia, Tejano, and Break Beats.

DJ SpongeRoc began as a hip hop dancer/ Bboy at the age of 5 when his mother taught him how to moon walk. From that point on it was dance all day and battles down the street with his homeboys. Around the age of 14 he was introduced to DJ Superstar Ralph who taught him the art of DJing in exchange for dance classes for his daughter. After this he would never be the same because of the passion for hip hop that grew on him through his expeiriences with Superstar Ralph. After some troubles in his life that led to his adoption to the Ortega family he became even more involved with the DJ scene because his new father Jose Ortega was a DJ who owned a company called 2Hype Productions that serviced weddings, parties, and school dances. These expeiriences only made him more professional and helped him make some money by doing house parties for his friends.

In high school he became very interested in making beats and producing music after being bored in class one day and messing around with the Garage Band application. Ever since his sophmore year he has been practicing and developing his Production Skills. With a lot of the friends that he had made throughout the years they became interested in making there own songs to express their own idea's and feelings and did so in his parents kitchen with the help of his fathers equipment. Since then he has joined the Army to gain money for college to pursue his musical dreams leaving his life and friends behind for a while but with little time left on his contract and soon to be home he will most likely take the city of Dallas, Texas by musical Storm.
