David M. Callejo Pérez is Chancellor and Dean at Penn State Harrisburg. He was Associate Vice President and Senior Associate Dean for Commonwealth Campuses at the Pennsylvania State University. Before Penn State, he was Associate Provost at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU). He founded the Center for Policy, Evaluation and Research, a multi-million dollar Center focused on community development and health. He is the author/co-author of books on Civil Rights, Urban Schools and Higher Education, as well as over 100 peer-reviewed academic papers. His books include Southern hospitality, Pedagogy of place, and Educating for democracy in a changing world.

His work includes research on Identity, Latinos, Educational Policy, Curriculum, and evaluation. He is also a member of several National and Regional Advisory Boards and journals in the field of education. David was the director of the Doctoral Program in Curriculum Studies at West Virginia University prior to coming to SVSU, past-President of the American Association for Teaching and Curriculum (AATC), a member and Factotum of the Society for Professors of Curriculum, and a Research Fellow at several Centers. He was also co-founder of the Educating for Diversity Graduate Program at the University of Nebraska.

David has authored White Papers, Technical Reports, and Evaluations for school districts, universities, communities, and companies, as well as Report Cards in Midland, Saginaw, and Bay Counties. His recent books are titled Higher Education and Human Capital: Re/thinking the Doctorate in America and The Red Light in the Ivory Tower: Contexts and Implications of Entrepreneurial Education, and The Stewardship of Higher Education: Re-imagining the Role of Education and Wellness on Community Impact. He has also worked with evaluation and curriculum development projects on human systems in the US and abroad. His latest book is Curriculum as Spaces.
