DR. ASHOK KUMAR MISHRA

Dr. Ashok Kumar Mishra, Former Director and Professor, Roorkee Engineering & Management Technology Institute, Shamli (U.P.) was born in Budaun on July 1, 1962. After his schooling at Dhampur, Bijnor, he did his M.A. in English and in Hindi, from Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. After completing his Post Graduate Diploma in journalism from Rajasthan University, Jaipur, he became an active journalist. Later, he also earned his Ph.D. in Hindi from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut.
Dr. Mishra has rich experience in the field of academics, research as well as administration. He taught post graduate classes for many years in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at CCS University Campus, Meerut. Dr Mishra also held the position of Professor and Head, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Institute of Management Studies, Noida. He has many research papers and articles to his credit in reputed journals, magazines and newspapers. He has chaired sessions in several national and international seminars and conferences.
As a journalist of repute for the last 34 years, Dr. Mishra is known for his intellectual analyses and commentaries on current national and international events and issues. His long tenure as Chief Sub-Editor, Amar Ujala, Meerut for over two decades has brought about a great enhancement in the contents as well the presentation of news and articles in the paper. His regular contributions in the form of Radio Talks on Akashvani have been insightful, interesting and popular. Dr. Mishra is a referee for the reputed research journal on media and film, ‘Samagam’ published from Bhopal. He also has several awards to his credit.
