Dalin Oliver
Cape Town, South Africa
Dalin Oliver is currently the Sports Presenter on Good Hope FM's Lunch Time show; Hosted by Stan Mars, weekdays 12:00 - 15:00.
After doing comedy for only four months, he was the runner-up of Cape Town's Next Comic in March 2011.In June he featured on the line-up of Intimate Comedy Sessions and performed at On Broadway alongside Stuart Taylor for four nights. In July, he was privileged enough to perform at two shows at the prestigious Vodacom Funny Festival at the Baxter Theatre. To complete this good run of form, he featured on the line-up of the Vodacom Funny Festival Community Road Show in July. In 2012, he was a finalist of the Good Hope FM Laugh Master competition as well as the Graca Comedy Showdown.
It was in 2013 when he started spreading his wings as he opened for Barry Hilton on the Cape Town leg of his “Best of Everything Ever” tour. He was the opening act for Riaad Moosa on his "Doctors Orders" tour in Cape Town, Ladysmith, Newcastle, Pietermaritzburg, Port Elizabeth and East London. He also toured East London as Stuart Taylors opening act for his Learner Husband Book Tour Launch. He had the privilege of going to the 2013 Grahamstown National Arts Festival, where he formed part of a comedy collective under the banner of Kurt Schoonraads Jou Ma Se Comedy Club. He shared the stage with Nik Rabinowitz, Stuart Taylor, Riaad Moosa, Schalk Bezuidenhoudt and Kagiso Mokgadi at Keeping you in Stitches 2, which was held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
Dalin is fresh from the 2014 National Arts Festival where he performed his debut one man stand-up comedy show; “I Came, I Taught, I Left” which is directed by Stuart Taylor. It’s centred on him opting to pursue a career as a comedian even though he’s a qualified High School Mathematics and History teacher. The show was a great success as he had more than one thousand audience members over eight performances.
South Africa, this awkwardly good-looking comedian looks forward to meeting you!
