Damien Joyce, Clifden businessman, owns DMJE Ventures Limited, an enterprise with interests in commercial, hospitality, retail and office properties across Galway and Dublin. Lowry’s Bar also comes under the corporate umbrella of DMJE Ventures; this renowned traditional Irish bar is the winner of numerous industry awards, including Best Tourist Bar in Ireland 2024 at the Irish Pub Awards, Best Pub in Galway 2025 at the Irish Restaurant Awards and Best Music Bar in Connacht 2025 at the Irish Bar and Cocktail Awards.
Through Lowry’s Bar, DMJE Ventures sponsors a wide range of community events, and it has been the main sponsor of the local GAA club for the last 15 years. It is also a long-term supporter and sponsor of the Clifden Arts Festival and its local rugby club.
Damien Joyce, DMJE Ventures Limited owner, is also a director of the Connemara Chamber of Commerce. This voluntary organisation has over 200 members and works to develop the economic prosperity of the region and drive local business. Mr Joyce is also part of a small voluntary team that recently ran the community fundraiser ‘Win a Home in Clifden’, which sold €1.82 million worth of tickets, with all profits going towards community causes. Participants had the chance to win bonus prizes throughout the campaign, as well as the main prize of a beautiful three-bedroom house in the heart of Clifden.
