Damon Alavekios

Holding a bachelor’s degree in biology from Arizona State University and an MD from Drexel University College of Medicine, Dr. Damon Alavekios completed his postgraduate training in general surgery and orthopaedic surgery at University of California, Irvine Medical Center. He has written a number of poster presentations and peer-reviewed publications and has been involved in several research studies. A member of numerous professional organizations, he maintains a specific interest in sports medicine and is a consultant for both STACK Media, Inc., and MiMedx, Inc. Currently, Dr. Damon Alavekios is providing orthopaedic surgery care at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital and Mee Memorial Hospital.

Outside of helping his patients, Dr. Alavekios is active in supporting his community. He is a volunteer and tide pool docent with the Ocean Laguna Foundation and a volunteer with Future Leaders of Orange County (FLOC). Additionally, he volunteers for Orange County Libraries. In his free time, Dr. Alavekios enjoys snowboarding, Brazilian jiu jitsu, and skydiving. He also enjoys flying small planes, and he holds a certified private pilot’s license.
