Dan Gertler
Hi!
I'm Dan Gertler- an account manager by day and a movie fan by night. My favorite part of the day is when I get home, take off my shoes, kiss my wife Sarah hello, and crashes the couch to watch the latest release. Usually John my 7 year old son joins me. If the only thing he learns form me is how to appreciate this amazing world of cinema I will consider my job done.
In my line of work I meet people every day. Through the years I’ve learned how to get the customers’ trust by working hard and never letting them down. Most of them stick around for quite some time, some of them for life. The best thing about my job is that I get to talk to people about more than business. That’s how I met my best friend, Paul.
Paul is a movie goer like me. We formed our most basic ideas about films through sharing our enthusiasm or fighting over our disagreements. But we both agree unanimously that the best movie(s) ever made is The Godfather trilogy.
One of my hobbies is writing. When my son was born I thought of writing a children’s book that would contain the short versions of my favorite films (and of course some adaptations to fit kids). That book got bigger and bigger as I realized my love for films could not in a million years be reduced to a 20 pages book. Until finally my wife suggested I start a blog, and that’s exactly what I did. As this project got more serious I pulled out my old files from the film courses I took in college and refreshed my memory on cinematography, film history, and other nuances of the field. I consider myself an original but accessible movie reviewer and my goal is to give the most honest, informative, exciting movie reviews possible.
