Daniel Rothman

I am a business developer and strategic planner who is passionate about utilizing innovative technology to maximize efficiency in healthcare. I have worked in five research labs and founded three successful start-up companies. This has given me unique experience with developing technology, market opportunity analysis, formation and management of complex multi-stakeholder relationships and partnerships, and strategic business development.

I currently work for CityMD New York's largest urgent care network.

I began my career at Brown University, where I studied Cognitive Neuroscience. However, I was always drawn to practical applications of research. I founded my first start-up, Zeo Inc. during the summer after my junior year [http://www.myzeo.com]. A year later, I moved on to co-found NightPilot, an astronomy device company, part-time while running a research lab.

I helped to found Rothman Healthcare Corporation in 2006 (now D/B/A Pera Health), which helps improve the efficiency of healthcare through an index that allows medical practitioners to observe overall patient health trends over time. The Rothman Index is a single score that is calculated for a patient using 26 common metrics that are already available in a hospital’s Electronic Health Record system. This creates an easily understood picture of the patient’s condition so that physicians and nurses can spend more time treating patients, improving the quality and efficiency of patient care. During this time, I also earned my Healthcare Executive MBA from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine.
