A chartered financial analyst, Daniel Zimmerman has worked in the financial services industry for more than 15 years, including at the securities, investment banking, and investment management firm Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York City. Daniel Zimmerman studied finance and accounting at the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia, which qualified him for his work with Goldman Sachs. As a student, he maintained a 3.78 GPA and received the Arthur Andersen Accounting Merit Scholarship. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts in 2002.

In 2003, he began his career. He started as a financial analyst, and, by 2005, had worked his way up to the position of an associate. As an associate, he focused on the telecommunication services, mortgage, and specialty finance sectors. Additionally, he conducted research on Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae during the financial crisis of 2007 and 2008. He went on to achieve the title of managing director at the company, a position he held from 2016 to 2019.

Throughout his career, he has shared insights into financial services and the financial services industry with numerous publications, include Investor's Business Daily, the Seattle Times, and Bloomberg.
