Dara Roy

For my final project I created and managed a Facebook page, Idan Africa where I featured Young African Professionals doing awesome stuff around the world. I also managed a twitter profile for Idan Africa.

I had no prior video editing skills at the beginning of the semester but I had a keen interest so I started working with tools like Cyberlink power director and Cutecut for iphone.

I created a couple of videos during the class and I proved my self a green horn by making many mistakes, especially concerning orientation.

The first Video was the intro video, The next three videos I created entirely on my iphone. In the first we were to create anything on our phone. For the second I recorded using the shooting techniques taught in class. The third was the one where I observed and recorded an activity.

I also created a meme site where I posted edited clips of skin care ads. I thoroughly enjoyed the editing process, which makes me think I may work better in storyboarding and video editing and not necessarily in the actual shooting.

Then there's the final video which I created to represent my ideas for idan Africa and to give more details about some of the people I featured on the page.

I learnt a lot from this class. Things I thought in the past were too hard to pick up. I look forward to Media Studio II.
