Darren Downen

An entrepreneur and business manager with decades of experience, Darren Downen resides in Hernando, Mississippi. Some of his past endeavors include founding the Swank Mattress Company, which served as a regional distribution firm for private label mattresses, and serving as lead developer and national sales director for Vitamist. Darren Downen also spent two years as an independent consultant for Your Travel Biz, where he offered coaching and sales training and earned executive level status.

Darren Downen also owned and operated two Smooth Moves Juice Bars, which provided dietary supplements and smoothies, as well as consultations to assist clients with making healthy food choices. As the owner and operator of an Avis Car Rental location, he earned a No. 1 ranking for off-airport locations in the region. He also served as a managing partner of Riverside Auto Auction, spent a term as alderman at large, and ran Road Runner/Downen Management Company, which earned him the Economic Development Award from the state of Mississippi.

Alongside his varied career, he has enjoyed traveling and participating in mission trips. He holds membership in the Hot Wings Society and the Hernando Baptist Church.
