Skilled in infrastructure engineering and Linux system administration, Darren Pham has worked extensively at leading technology and consumer services companies. After participating in Foothill College’s Year Up IT training and professional development program, he joined eBay as a systems monitoring and tools intern. Darren Pham created 50 scripts and developed an automated workflow application to monitor disk space usage. He also configured and tested Everbridge and Foglight monitoring tools to keep the IT systems stable.
In July 2015, Darren Pham moved into a permanent role with eBay’s IT Command Center as a systems engineer. In this role, he continued to administer Everbridge and Foglight while working with key teams, partners, and service owners to refine monitoring and perform root cause analysis of system issues. He also led several projects, developed strategies, and improved data collection for applications and services using deployed agents, scripts, and synthetic transactions.
Darren Pham eventually joined Splunk as a lead network operations center engineer, and configured technology stacks such as Amazon Web Services, Jenkins, DynECT, Ubuntu 16, GitHub, and Ansible. He also worked on automation projects to reduce manual tasks while assisting customers on issues with services, maintenance, and updates. Currently, he is studying an extensive curriculum on full-stack web development through the University of California, Berkeley Coding Boot Camp. He has several projects in GitHub, including a Yelp page that recommends recipes based on users’ search history.
