Dave C. Jones

Attorney in Sacramento, California

Upon graduating from law school, I became a deputy public defender, quickly gaining real-world experience to back up the skills I had built in law school by successfully competing in mock trial and moot court. I was able to quickly hone my courtroom skills by representing criminal defendants at all stages of the criminal process, winning nearly 2/3 of all my jury trials. (Unfortunately, though, past performance is no guarantee of the outcome of your case.) For over a year, I was also accepting cases appointed to me by the California Court of Appeals to represent indigent criminal defendants in their California appeals, gaining valuable insight into the areas of trial and legal representation that can cause clients the most problems in court.

When I went into private practice, I expanded my repertoire to include all trial work (civil trials & criminal defense trials), civil litigation, probate litigation (for example, will contests and trust contests), criminal motion practice, and civil motion practice. In short, anything that gets me into court to argue a case. My experience as a public defender and the many civil and probate court hearings, complaints, petitions, and motions that I have filed and argued successfully will provide all future clients with peace of mind in my skills and experience.

If you are ever charged with a crime or need a civil trial attorney, my experience in pre-trial negotiations, motion practice, jury selection, trials, and appeals will be invaluable. Contact me to discuss your legal situation and find out how I can help.
