Born when Mr Hitler was still sending the V1's (Doodlebugs) across the south coast of England and grew up in a rural community. Had a varied range of careers from apprentice mechanic through various senior local government positions and spokesperson for RoSPA, to project management in the NHS. Married with three grown-up children and six grandchildren. Live in the west Midlands on the southern outskirts of the city of Birmingham.
