David Dessler

After studying physics at Rice University, David Dessler transferred to The University of Oklahoma, from which he received his BA in history and BS in physics in 1976 and 1978, respectively. He subsequently received his MA and PhD in government/international studies from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC. David Dessler credits his comprehensive approach in academia to his diverse undergraduate education.
Mr. Dessler began teaching at the College of William & Mary (W&M) several years before receiving his terminal degree. After more than 30 years, he left W&M as a tenured professor in its Department of Government to explore new opportunities.
In his free time, Mr. Dessler has traveled widely. One of his favorite trips was to Russia, where he appreciated the architecture and enjoyed the culture. Particularly memorable was a train trip between Moscow and Leningrad on the Red Arrow, which only run at night.
