David Geithner

David Geithner is a Larchmont, New York-based senior finance executive who draws upon more than 25 years of relevant experience in his role as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of IMG Events and On Location. Previously, he served as EVP, Strategy and Business Development, at On Location, and as chief financial officer of ReactiveCore, where he was part of the senior management team tasked with implementing and following through on strategic goals. David Geithner also identified partnership opportunities for growth and sources money for pre-Series A and Series A funding rounds.
Mr. Geithner has spent much of his career in media, leveraging his expertise in strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions to increase revenue and reach for global media brands including The New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly, and Vanity Fair. During his five years as chief financial officer of Condé Nast, the company grew web and video revenue at an annual rate of 15 percent to more than $400 million and increased digital revenue from 13 percent to 30 percent of all company revenue. During his time at Condé Nast the company acquired Pitchfork, Pop2Life, and CitizenNet.
The former executive vice president of Time, Inc., David Geithner also previously served as president of its Entertainment Group, which accounted for $1 billion in revenue and was composed of more than 800 employees. He also oversaw revenue diversification efforts for Time, Inc.'s Mexico-based subsidiary Grupo Expansión. He spent 22 years at Time and also held roles including general manager of The People Group, edit finance manager for InStyle, and advertising revenue analyst.
David Geithner holds a bachelor's in government from Dartmouth College and an MBA in finance and accounting from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, where he maintained a 3.75 GPA and made the dean's list. He is also a former David Rockefeller Fellow and has spent three years on the Internet Advertising Board CFO Council.
Recently, Mr. Geithner joined the nonprofit board of Breakthrough NY, which helps students from low-income backgrounds in New York City achieve academic and personal success via enrichment programming, mentoring, and other opportunities.
