Debbie Hunt
Debbie grew up in the small town of Bernardsville, New Jersey. Her passions from a young age were animals, especially horses, and drawing. In 1972 Debbie married her high school sweetheart, Dave. In the early 80‘s they moved to Syracuse, New York where they raised their family. While living in Syracuse, Debbie was able to pursue her dream of owning a boarding and lesson stable. It was during this time she began to draw and paint on her own using soft pastels and watercolors. In 2005, Debbie and Dave with four dogs, two cats, and four horses in tow moved to Northern Virginia. Once in Virginia Debbie started to focus more on her art. She began painting with acrylics and took online lessons with Maine artist, Tim Gagnon. The online lessons were good but Debbie wanted more one on one instruction so she enrolled in classes at Art Square in Leesburg, Virginia. It was here she met Judith Thompson, artist and owner of The Studio at Schiphill in Purcellville,Virginia. Debbie was so inspired by Judith’s work that she began taking private lessons with her. Judith encouraged Debbie to experiment with oils and to push the boundaries of her artistic abilities. Thanks to Judith’s guidance Debbie has been able to grow as an artist and develop her own style of painting. Debbie is a member of Artists in Middleburg Gallery in Middleburg, Virginia.
