Hello. My name is Denise Gilliland. I am the owner, editor and chief of an online newspaper, Kat Country Hub. I graduated from Northeast Community College in May of 2013 with a degree in Journalism.

I am married to Jeff Gilliland. We have two grown children, Justin and Whitney. Justin has three children, Grayce, Grayhm and Charli. Whitney is married to Tri Tran and they have a daughter Penelope.

Jeff works at Craig Cattle Company just south of Craig Nebraska. He use to do construction, and still does around our house and helps friends with odd jobs. He use to farm with his dad until his dad retired. He has always loved the outdoors, and farm animals, so this job suits him!

I am also on the Oakland City Council. I have been for almost two years. I consider it an honor. I am dedicated to serving the citizens of Oakland. I feel everyone should give back to their community in one form or another, making it a community to be proud of for generations to come!

I adore my grandchildren, spending time with them every chance I get! I also enjoy many hobbies, such as walking, crocheting, reading and photography. I enjoy every challenge life has to offer and am thankful every morning that my eyes open greeting another wonderful day!
