Denny Alfonso has been covering all kinds of news that include the terrorist attacks of September 11, and the beginning of the Iraq war from the United Nations. Denny currently works as a contributor correspondent for The Associated Press in NY. Denny began her early career steps at News Radio Caracol 1260 AM in Miami. Over the years Denny was transferred to NY to be the Caracol Network Correspondent doing reports on radio and TV for one of the biggest broadcasting companies in Latin America. While covering news in NY Denny started working for SBS at la Mega 97.9 FM. She was part of the most listened morning show in the country, working with radio personality Luis Jimenez. Looking to focus on hard news Alfonso worked at the 24 hours local news channel NY1 covering stories in the 5 boroughs. The bilingual journalist later incurred in covering national news and despite her young age, she was pointed to be the general news producer at Univision Radio in NY. She was also an on-air talent for WADO 1260 AM and 92.7 FM both Univision Network Stations. At the same time Alfonso was part of the production team at Univision TV Channel 41 in NY. During years of journalism in radio and TV Alfonso interviewed numerous personalities in Latin-American politics, among those, her exclusive 1:1 with President of Bolivia Evo Morales. While covering the U.N General Assembly she interviewed former President of Chile Michelle Bachelet, President of Argentina Christina Kishner and former President of Honduras Manuel Zelaya. In 2008 Denny Alfonso started working as the TV news anchor of "Special Report" on HITN-TV being part of the national live coverage of the 2008 presidential elections, and the inauguration of President Barack Obama. Denny Alfonso’s news show "Special Report" also known as "Informe Especial" gained the media award for excellence by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce NYS Federation. Denny joined NBC's Today Show in 2011, in 2012 she gain the Secret Service scandal exclusive for the network while being part of the Investigative Unit at NBC. Denny has also cover special assignments for Yahoo International interviewing numerous personalities, among those actor Hugh Jackman, supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio & Giants' NFL player Victor Cruz. A truly newyorker , Denny has a Masters degree in journalism from the Columbia University & Barcelona University dual program.
