Mike Gandolfo "Coach G"

The Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic is the oldest premier all-star game in the country. The annual event draws 20-24 of the best high school basketball players in the country to play in historic Freedom Hall in front of over 12,000 fans. Past participants include Isiah Thomas, Dominique Wilkins, Doc Rivers, Chris Mullin, Moses Malone, Allan Houston, Penny Hardaway, Deron Williams, Marcus Smart, and many more!

In 2010, Mike Gandolfo, left his position as an assistant coach at Spalding University and became the recruiting coordinator for the event. "Coach G" has had a long family history with the Kentucky Derby Festival and was actually a ball boy for the Derby Classic when he was in middle school. Now he travels the country looking for the best basketball players to continue the rich tradition of this prestigious event.
