Derek Blair

After spending over 20 years working in TV News, Sports and Video production, Derek Blair now has almost a decade of experience working in education, Derek Blair serves as adjunct instructor for the broadcast and cinema arts department at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan. In this position, he teaches a course on field production and editing. Derek Blair has also worked as a substitute teacher at Parkview Elementary School within the Novi Community School District. He also spent time as an English and journalism teacher for North Farmington High School and a digital media arts teacher for Oxford High School.

In addition to his work in education, Derek Blair owns Blair Properties, LLC, located in Northville, Michigan. As the sole proprietor of residential real estate sales and leasing, he is involved with real estate investment as well as property and account management.

Mr. Blair earned his bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada. He later secured his provisional Michigan secondary teaching certificate with a concentration on English and communication arts as well as an interim occupational certificate in radio and television broadcasting from Madonna University.
