Sheri Durricks
Sheri Durricks grew up in Philadelphia where she witnessed much gang and drug violence. She currently resides in New Jersey, and work as a Therapist for those Addicted to drug and Alcohol. Sheri has mentor young women of all cultures for over twenty years. Previously, she started women’s groups to assist women who experienced all types of trauma with tools, resources and life skills. She was also a recovery mentor for women who are addicted to heroin. Sheri received her Master Degree at Lincoln University for Human Services and Counseling and she is currently enrolled at Walden University pursing her PhD for Human Services specializing in Social Policy Analysis and Planning. She was recently inducted into the Tau Upsilon Alpha- Alpha Chi Chapter in recognition of academic and professional excellence in Human Services. Sheri is also the founder and CEO of House of Refuge for Women registered in New Jersey, ,which will be a transitional home for Women who experience all types of trauma. Sheri has spoken at numerous churches and women conferences.
She is a Change Agent and her mission is to help empower women and to break the shackles of silence, isolation shame and fear, which is a result of physical, emotional and mental abuse. Sheri uses her unique talents to assist these women to safety, freedom and empowerment by discovering their purpose in life. Recently, Sheri developed a program entitled, The Many Faces of Domestic Violence, represents women from all cultural spectrums that don’t visibly show signs of abuse such as black eye, or broken bones, but they have invisible scars and these are your Corporate Leaders, First Ladies and Parishioners in the church, Doctors, and Lawyers. The Many Faces of Domestic Violence was recently created as extensions of Beauty 4your Ashes to reach women who are in abusive, dysfunctional relationships.
