The story you are about to read is the story of a beautiful young mother named Diana Materano. She would give the shirt off her back or the shoes off her feet if you were in need. She would brighten your entire day with a simple smile. She was a ray of sunlight that made us all feel the love and warmth from her heart. She would want her story told. She would want to know that her story helped others.

On Friday July 13, 2012 late afternoon, my dear friend Diana was ending her shift at a local bank when she was confronted outside her office by her on again off again boyfriend. He later said he was picking her up to look for an apartment, which was strange because she had made dinner plans with her mother only a few hours prior. Diana was always known for giving her all when she was in love and in the beginning of their relationship she had done just that, but by now she had attempted to leave the relationship several times but always seemed to come back just like most do, they feel "he's changed, he's different, he won't do that to me again!" She knew deep down he would never change, you could look in her eyes and see that her love had turned into fear and she was only entertaining the idea simply to keep her children safe from his anger and rage. As she left her office he was waiting for her on his bright red motorcycle. For reasons none of us will ever understand she got on the back of that bike and they drove away.

They hadn't made it far before the sound of a high pitched fast moving motorcycle echoed throughout the parking lot of the restaurant across the street from her office, a restaurant she had spent so many lunch hours enjoying her favorite food with co-workers. The loud noise coming through the parking lots caught the attention of a few bystanders. What happened next no one seems to understand but from witness accounts he actually accelerated and slammed his motorcycle into the back of a parked truck throwing Diana through the air off the back of the bike causing her to slam almost head first into the hard concrete, with no helmet. One onlooker came running to the scene where her so called boyfriend was trying to pick Diana up, trying to make her stand up as she started bleeding from her head. The bystander saw Diana's eyes roll back into her head and pleaded with him to please lay her flat on the ground since he could be easily causing more damage. Thankfully he listened; paramedics arrived and rushed Diana to the hospital. S
