When people ask where I'm from, I struggle to answer because I feel I'm from lots of places. Every country I lived in since birth has formed my cultural identity so I guess I'm a blend of Sri Lankan, Australian, Emirati, Omani and Qatari.
My teachers, friends and networks have spanned from every continent in the world teaching me an important lesson. Every person has a story and each story has countless angles. This is where my fascination for story telling began.
In my work today as an indy film producer and journalist, I aspire to shed light on the untold side of news and current affairs stories. I believe sharing the voice of the voiceless is an important societal tool and has the power to dismantle misperceptions of social groups within our communities.
